Classroom attendance is mandatory.
Some linguistic and sociocultural activities promoting integration in the community are offered to students to enable them to learn outside the classroom.
Accommodation costs are not included in the program price. Students can choose to stay in a host family, a residence building at UQAC or rent an apartment or room off-campus. To get the most out of the language learning process, we strongly encourage students to stay with a Francophone family. An off-campus housing service available on the UQAC website at the following address :

Students are responsible for their own meals. Students who stay with a host family must come to an agreement with them on how many meals will be included per day.
The UQAC campus cafeteria offers a variety of reasonably-priced daily specials from Monday to Friday. Sandwich, salad and snack bars are available as well.
In addition, you will find a student canteen on campus offering coffee, juice, snacks and meals to go. Vending machines are also located throughout the campus.
Unlike the shorter spring and summer programs, students are not offered organized transportation between their residence in Chicoutimi and the UQAC campus.
However, public transit by bus is available in the city. Students who wish to bring their car must purchase a parking sticker to park.
At the start of the program, students sign a contract stating that they will speak only French in class and during activities organized by the École de langue.
