Students who register for this 3-week immersion will take classes with students participating in the 5-week program. Each student will be placed in a class that corresponds closely to his-her level of fluency of French. Students will also take part in workshops and activities giving them more opportunities to speak the target language.

Classroom attendance is mandatory.
Since learning doesn’t take place only in class, a host of exciting activities awaits you at the École de langue under the supervision of highly qualified and experienced instructors and monitors. An unforgettable life experience!
Linguistic and sociocultural activities are held during afternoons and evenings on weekdays. All participants will receive a complete schedule of activities in the first few days of the program.
Since 3-week students join 5-week students in class and activities, they well not be able to take part in activities that are offered during the 4th and 5th weeks.
Attendance to the activities is mandatory.
Here are a few examples of activities:
We strongly encourage students to stay with a Francophone family. This direct contact maximizes the French learning process and exposure to Quebec culture.
Students also have the option of reserving a room in a residence on campus, however the number of places is limited.
All meals are included during the 3-week program. A student staying with a host family shares on average 14 meals per week with the family. For the other meals, the École de langue gives students a meal card that includes 5 lunches and 2 dinners per week at the UQAC cafeteria.
Students living in residence on campus also receive a card for 7 meals. For the other meals, students must prepare their own or dine out. The École de langue gives students staying in residence a weekly allowance to cover meal costs.
The École de langue offers transportation by minibus for students staying with host families who reside far from UQAC. This service is offered to UQAC in the morning and back home in the evening after classes or activities.
Students who wish to bring their car must purchase a parking sticker to park on campus.
At the start of the program, students sign a moral contract committing them to speak only French during the program.
Breaching of this contract can lead to the student being expelled from the program.
If you are worried about your ability to adhere to this rule, please read this message from an ex-student at l’École de langue.
