This 5-week intensive immersion program brings together a balance of learning French and enjoying a stimulating and enriching musical experience.
This program has been designed for musicians who wish to learn and perfect the French language while being able to continue playing their instrument in a dynamic environment.
The program is offered by UQAC’s École de langue and is held at the Collège d’Alma. The lovely city of Alma in Lac-St-Jean is located 45 minutes from Chicoutimi and its 100% Francophone population is renowned for their warm welcome. Since the Collège d’Alma offers a music program during the school year, they are well-prepared for such a program with a music hall that opened in 2005 and high quality equipment.

Access to the premises to play your instrument on your own.
Many other sociocultural and tourist activities are also part of the program.
Attendance to the activities is mandatory.
Student commentsAccommodation with a host family is included in the program price. This direct contact will maximize the French learning process and exposure to Quebec culture.
All meals are included during the 5-week program. A student staying with a host family will share on average 16 meals per week with them. Lunch meals will be served at the Collège d’Alma cafeteria from Monday to Friday.
At the start of the program, students sign a moral contract committing them to speak only French during the program. Breaching of this contract can lead to the student being expelled from the program.
The information will be available at winter 2013.
