In the perspective of optimal participation of international students and to familiarize them with the North American university culture, this course promotes a communicative and interactive approach between the trainer and the learners and between the learners themselves. The courses are offered in the form of thematic workshops in order to encourage exchanges and benefit from the cultural contribution of the learners. Short research, analysis and reflection on targeted elements of the course content will be required.
Goals
Raise awareness of the particularities of Quebec society by addressing linguistic, social, historical and cultural aspects, with the aim of promoting better integration. Tackle the specific features of speaking French in Quebec, capture the broad lines that define us as a society and retrace the history of Quebec, from our origins to today.
